Community Outreach

Amanda firmly believes in the importance of giving back to the community.  There are many ways that music can contribute to the betterment and quality of life of people of all ages.  One way the Dallas Horn Studio will give back to the community is to provide an annual studio recital, once it is safe again. Students will have the opportunity to perform a solo and/or ensemble work in the recital and may receive community service hours for performing at a Senior Living Facility in order to provide live music for senior citizens.

“Amanda Moskowitz is an incredibly inspiring and life-changing educator. As a student of hers, I’ve learned not only how to become a better horn player, but a greater musician as well. I’ve always had big dreams and aspirations, but as someone who’s family struggles financially, making those dreams come true was never easy. Once I started working with Amanda Moskowitz; however, I began to see my hopes and dreams become a reality. Under her tutelage I was able to obtain a full scholarship to the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance which I now attend. I am forever grateful to have met such a special person and educator, and anyone who is able to work with her in a musical environment is very fortunate.”

- Isaac Sepulveda, Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance, University of Michigan, anticipated Class of 2023

“For the few years I was able to study with Amanda, I not only acquired the skill set necessary to have a professional career in music, I also learned the skills needed to navigate through adult life. She was a great teacher, but more importantly, she became an amazing friend and mentor.”

“As I aspire to be an orchestral horn player, during my junior year of high school, I noticed my horn playing skills weren’t at the level I needed them to be.  Soon after that, Amanda Moskowitz started working with me to get prepare me not only for music college but also to be a high-quality level musician.  She helped me build up my technical and lyrical abilities as well as expanding my repertoire.  I now attend the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and I can’t thank her enough for everything she has helped me accomplish.”
